Welcome to VKSM College, Recognizing and harnessing the immense potential of NARI SHAKTI.

In the village of Medinipur, located in Nasriganj, Rohtas District, there was a strong desire among educators and community members to empower women through education. They came together to establish a college dedicated to providing higher education to girls in the village and surrounding areas. This initiative was led by prominent figures, including Shri Mangal Singh, a respected social thinker. On November 19, 1983, they held a meeting with villagers and local guardians, during which they decided to create a women's college in honor of the great freedom fighter, Late Babu Veer Kunwar Singh. The foundation for "Veer Kunwar Singh Mahila College" was laid on the same day. Over time, the college was renamed as "Veer Kunwar Singh Mahila College, Kashi, Medinipur Rohtas." Initially affiliated with Magadi University, Bodh Gaya, this college later became affiliated with the newly established Veer Kunwar Singh University in Ara, Bhojpur, on October 26, 1992. In August 2009, the Bihar Government's Higher Education Department granted permanent affiliation to the college with this university. Veer Kunwar Singh Mahila College, Kasi Midnapur, is the sole institution providing education to girls in the region between Dehri and Ara. Currently, it offers courses in various subjects under the Arts faculty to nearly 2000 female students. The college holds the prestigious 2(F) and 12 B plan bracket affiliations from the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. The college was founded by Dr. Hemant Prasad Singh, with Dr. Hari Govind Singh serving as the principal and secretary during its inception.
